GUIDED WAVE RADAR LEVEL TRANSMITTERS, 132 MICROGUIDE |
| |
|
| |
The SBEM Guided Wave Radar Level Transmitter, Model MICRO GUIDE 132 GWR operates on the technique of Time Domain Reflectometry. Pulses are transmitted along the probe which acts as a “wave guide”. When the pulses comes in contact with the product, they are reflected back to the sensor electronics. The reflection is due to the difference in the dielectric constants of air and the process medium which causes change in the characteristic impedance of the probe. The time-of-flight i.e., time between transmitted and reflected pulse is measured which is proportional to the measured level. The output from the electronics is continuously updated as the level of the material surface changes.
